hell yeah the knock on creativity is that it comes from innovators and trailblazers.although there is nothing new under the sun..some of us dont reinvent the wheel we put rims on it..its a curse to see things other cant because they cant relate or understand..the sad part is that with someone endorsing your creative who has credibilty others then say oh yeahhhhhhhhh..but being creative is a life destined without understanding...who can understand your vision but you..but be thankful for your gift cause it also is a understanding of the universe and everything divine..inshallah

I suppose Van Gogh is the perfect example of the tortured artist, but Dali could handle his giftedness quite well. Also Picasso did rather well out of creativeness. So I would say if you are an ignored genius you can get a bit depressed.
This goes for men rather than women. Emily Dickinson didn't seem to mind writing for herself. As far as I know Sylvia Plath didn't rail against Ted Hughes for obscuring her brilliance, and Elizabeth Barrett Browning did not have a go at Robert Browning for his need to be centre stage.
Newton was positively venomous towards Boyle and Leibniz and wanted credit for every bit of scientific creativeness under the sun.
