How come the people on those "Get rich quick" info-mercials always look so poor?

Like feed the hungry. they show the most impoverished of the impoverished.
SO with the informercial...THEY show that the POOREST can do iT. and SO CAN YOU!!! it's the marketing technique of showing EXTREME situations to show that their idea(s) product(s) work.
or....it just means you got a lot of CLASS chiquita! ha.
