One answer was to unite them under ne single ruler, who ether as a figurehead or an active leadr, would be a focus of commitment for all peoples.

It worked for the British Commonwealth to some extent, for the Holy Roman Empire and Catholic Church for some time, Nazi Germany rather less well.

Of course, such a thing would not work today, given the beliefs of Fundamentalist Christians . . .

We can't. Nobody loves everybody - it's not human nature. It's like sticking a child in a room of their classmates; their not going to like everybody and are probably going to stray to a select few. The best thing we can do is tolerate eachother. Or at least try to get a better understanding of eachother. People are so close minded that we don't bother to try to look at things from a different perspective, and that is what causes conflict. We just need to learn from eachother, and respect eachother.

you cannot make them..that's seen as aggression, but if there's a way that shows people that differences are good, and that they can all be embraced, and that we should all profit off each other living, and that we profit more if we're all living then dying then maybe your utopia will happen.
also, get rid of religion since that seems to be enough to incite the 5% of the world that is ready to kill someone for their difference of opinion..

I think only individuals can love each-other, for certain reasons. As far as nations are concerned, tolerance and law are quite enough since love is sometimes very shifty.

Well.... If we could only be 100% effective in teaching every new child RESPECT and UNDERSTANDING.... and that's it... if we can do that 100% effective... then everybody in the world would end loving each other... we only need to trully understand the situation and position of others to understand their real way of thinking and to be able to accept our differences and uniqueness.... Respect is fundamental too just like understanding will help us try to accept each other uniqueness...

To make someone, an individual or a nation do something is to force it on them. If you want to force something on someone, how does that make you any different from them? You ARE them.
