I love this movie altough it has a weird ending an some alternative endings but I think its deserve to won oscar for best supporting actor and best screenplay, what do u think?

Aside from the VW bus looking too new, this was both the happiest and the saddest story made for years.

I think the little girl, so real as she was, should have won a Best Supporting award, as I believe Alda as the dead grandfather (shades of Grapes of Wrath) did. And, if you don't factor money into the deal, it might very well have been the year's best film.

No film made on such a minimal budget has won Best Picture since Marty, and this was the year to honor (Marty)Scorsese, after all those best pictures he made that won nothing much.

it is such a great movie. it is really fascinating how screenwriters watch for every detail in the scene to make it perfect. it is a movie about dysfunctional family but still the colors are so bright in every scene and it makes the viewer happy.. and you know that the ending will Be happy for the family.
