Yes! We had a cookie lady! I even remember her house and the smell of her perfume. Roses, just a hint of roses.
~Every day after school ( I was in K or grade 1 ) we would have to walk past this elderly womans house. She would wait at the screen door for our walking group, and wave us over. We all would have cookies and milk as she told us wonderful stories of her youth. Secretly, I know now, my parents new her well enough! Thank you for the memory!
PS
If some old lady ever had my kids in her house and she fed them anything, Id have to hurt her! You just dont do that these days
How sad

No we didn't have a cookie lady, but we did have an old lady with a penny candy store in her front room. It was really neat. I think it might still be there. I might even go today just for old times' sake! I wonder if the candy is still $.01??

No, but we had a "Crazy Lady" that held the police at bay for 3 hours with a rifle... would have been better with a Cookie lady.

No, but we had a can man who collected aluminum cans. He rode around on a three wheel bike with a basket and we loved giving them to him.
