Is Platini just trying to get a better deal for france? He's saying England should have fewer CL places, well look at the CL at the moment. 3 out of 8 quarter finalists are english teams. Looking at the draw, it's likely that the semis will be the three english teams and bayern. All the english team topped their group in the group stages. This shows that the english teams are the strongest in europe and this will be reflected in the fifa coefficient. This should decide who plays in the CL which is meant to be a competition for the best teams in europe. And platini wants to award a nonqualifying spot to the chamions of the polish league!?!

I'm all for the polish champions etc to get places in the CL, but they should have to go through pre-qualifying and or qualifying stages. Just like in the FA cup where teams in higher leagues get byes to later stages, teams in the CL with higher coeffs should get byes to the CL proper.

English teams have proven time and time again in Europe that the English league is stronger than most of the European leagues. We only need to look at Liverpool in 2005 to see that a team that finishes 5th in England can be good enough to win the Champions league. Plattini is just sour that English sides keep knocking out the French sides.

It is very much possible that we will see 75% of the teams in the semis being English teams - which will be good for me!

I don't think UEFA is doing England any good really! England has the best league in Europe, but look at the picture the Champions League is giving about England - not at the moment, but in the past as well. At the present moment, It does not really matter even if the Champions League final was all English (which is likely to happen).

I hope the changes that Platini is thinking of bringing will not make life difficult for English teams - I really hope so!

Why do some of you provides the incorrect innovations. for the reason that whilst does ending 5th facilitates you to circulate into the qualifying rounds of the Champions League? Liverpool have been allowed to do it in 05 using fact they gained the contest as I bear in mind the protecting Champs this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days are Inter. suitable 3 qualify straight away, fourth one get qualifying around. be satisfied you have 4 spots!

Platini is just trying to build support for the next UEFA election. He's just like Blatter, full of s**t, they only care about squeezing all money they can out of football & into their own pockets

it's a business, and therefore driven by money.
Poland has great potential, it just needs to be developed. one way to do is to open them to the champions league. other ways are: organising a european or world cup....but these are both very expensive.
The english football market is satured....or nearly....just like the Italian and spanish.
sad but true
