I just moved into CA, and of course need to buy a car asap; an obvious step is to take it to a 'good mechanic' for inspection. So I'll ask a few friends, but besides yellowpages, what would you recommend?
It will be an <$5k car, btw. No Lamborghini here...

I would recommend:

Steve's Auto Clinic
16205 Nordhoff St.
North Hills,Ca 91343
(818) 891-6109

He's really nice and won't do you wrong. He once charged me a box of ice cream to fix a problem on my car I thought was serious, but wasn't.

o.k., the place isn't very enormous, and if there are snooty, choosy those which you artwork with i don't reccomend you pass right here, yet at one element in tim eyou would desire to pass to the Weiner production unit. Its a warm canine joint this is mind-blowing! Its been around continuously and is to die for!! I swear to you, you gotta pass there!
