No, people, by and large, are less likely to kill you or beat you up today than in the past. Even war kills far fewer people than in the past.
Death tolls in battles in ancient times, and the not-so-distant past were often in the 10's of thousands.
We tend to be more humane and as a result, we live longer. Murder, however, is still the leading cause fo death for teenagers.

Hi Ewn4, I know they were a lot of mean people in the past. Like in school if you did something you shouldn't have done you would get hit with a paddle. The teachers are not allow to touch a student now a days. But i have to say that people to day have a lot of problems with drugs, gangs to much alcohol murders and robbery. I believe there are more mean people in today. A Friend.

it depends.
most people have the perspection that such cases are more of a "modern" problem because they feel it for themselves, thus making them more understandable of how people are.
This doesn't mean that people are in anyway more or less "mean" in the past, now or the future.
But we can discuss about how the past without the modern law and restrictions could have been alot more crude. But what about the repulsive modern online world?

Absolutely - Everyone is in a rush these days, making them grumpy when late for meetings/appointments … people are complaining more about anything ….road rage is such a BIG thing now, people are more spoilt therefore getting grouchy when not getting their own way …..This is life in the fast lane as we know it today and people’s personality has changed because of it

Well... Used to, if someone was hungry, they only needed to walk into a cafe and ask for something... and they would have gotten it.. It may not have been on the menu, and it may not have been a huge feast, but they weren't told to scram.
And used to... it was safer. Kids could play out till all hours and you didn't have to worry about drugs, pedophiles, ect...
It's not just that they're meaner, it's simply not safe anymore
You can't even pick up hitchhikers anymore.

the poor people are poorer and are humble and trust in God more.They do not fake it.that is unless they are a thief or killer/ The rich people are nastier and the meanest of the mean,Jesus said I am with the poor,Jesus also said it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle than a rich person to enter into the kingdom of heaven.Rich people dont need God.Poor people have to count on him.

i think it's just equal, in the past we had Hitler, Mussolini, Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, etc.
in the present we "had" Saddam Hussein, George Bush...not that he is mean to his own family but he allowed soldiers to be sacrificed in Iraq, and other mean and selfish people that walk around us.

I just think there are more Democrats....Not being rude they are just more liberal so more things are tolerated.
