You need to have more details in your question. I am assuming that the router has successfully assigned your xbox 360 an IP address, and not an IP address that is fixed by you. In other words, you are using DHCP setting on both you 360 and router. In which case, you do not need to specify the DNS and should be taken care by your router.

I suggest that you check that both the router and 360 are on DHCP. Next check that the IP address of the 360 is in the class range set by your router.Typically, it should be a class C range i.e. 203.203.203.* Your router should have IP address of 203.203.203.1 and your 360 should have something like 203.203.203.50

If your router is working correctly and has an active internet connection, your 360 should be in good shape. The next thing is to make sure you have a live account to download goodies.

Hi what dewdrop is telling you isn't entirely correct. My router range is from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254 the range being from the last numbers is from .1 to .254

Make sure you got your router set up as a dhcp server and that your network settings on the 360 are set to automatic including the dns servers. If you want any more help either look at my other answers for the xbox and 360 set up or drop me an email
