Innocentia - Yes, that guy that won the Oscar for "Tsotsi" recently was main actor the the show! It was mainly about Western Province etc.....dont remember all the details, would like to watch agin if I can find it!

1989 - yes was called the game. Rugby in Western Province. If I remember correctly his dad made him practice with bricks and old tyres, stopped playing when he killed his friend by tackling him in a match.
I think there was a sequel as well, not quite sure.

Yes. Starring Gavin Hood (who recently won an Oscar for Tsotsi). Brings back memories of Die Man Van Staal, Die Man Van Intersek, Straatvalk, Buck Rogers, Derrick, TJ Hooker, CHIPS, Cagney and Lacey and Hardcastle and McCormick.

Now that's a blast from the past - yes I vaguely remember it but if you want to watch it again you had best get in touch with SABC to see if they ever made it into Video (no Disc technology at that time)
There was another great show at that same time, can't remember its name now, but I think it was from the Afrikaans side - they always made the better shows - I think.

Strange that there haven't been more series with a sports theme in sportscrazy South Africa. Maybe the people who make movies/series are generally not that much into sport (with the exception of Schuster).

Remember it distinctly! My friends and I always used to watch it, and then go outside to play rugby, politics and all,(I was about 9 at the time).
Remember "the BIG time" with Frank Opperman, and that Afrikaans show "Konings". THAT was good television!

particular, I bear in concepts whilst i become in 1st grade my pal and her older sister watched it so i might see it whilst i become at their abode. sometime in the eighty's they began exhibiting reruns of it yet this is the final time I observed it. exceedingly cool teach. I had no theory it become on DVD so i will ought to verify it out!
