There are many reasons your connection may be or appear to be slow,

Do you have up to date good quality anti virus and spyware loaded. If you dont download a free spyware like adaware and see how many hits you get.

It may be that you are getting problems at certain times - the amount of people on the net does affect your speed.

I`d strongly suggest getting a techie friend in and do a total reload of your hard disk - this can often solve a lot of speed problems

Depends on how long your computer has been on. Are you leaving it on for days? If so, restart your computer. Are you running your connection through a router. Sometimes people will go months without rebooting their routers and that will slow down your computer. If both of those are not the issue, I would simply reboot my modem. Unplug it for 30 seconds or so then plug it back in. Wait for all the lights to come back on then recconect. Another factor is weather related issues. If all else fails call your DSL provider and they will run you through step by step over the phone.

I hate to take the fundamental way out and say "call your ISP," yet i think of of this is the placement you ought to bypass. This venture would not sound community - or a minimum of no longer something the customer must be in charge for. it would opt to be that the line that is going out of your place to the DSLAM is questionable, or that the DSLAM card desires a tough reset. If the community is poorly designed, it would opt to be congestion on the uplink to the section router. there are multiple opportunities, and your ISP ought to artwork this out, to boot the easy actuality that they might call you tons during the technique and have you ever make optimistic themes many cases. i choose to advise commencing off a monitoring fee ticket, yet i will particularly plenty assure they are going to aid you be attentive to to call returned at the same time as the undertaking is definitely happening. try this. And do it on a on a regular basis foundation till you get it resolved.

First line of defense is to run an anti-spyware software such as Microsoft's Defender or Ad-Aware.

Good luck.
