Why while driving only?
It should either be banned completely or made unaffordable.
Levy un-imaginably high rates of taxes on cigarettes.

I dont really have an answer to that question....

But, it does bring up an interesting question.....Lately the pariah of all things automotive seems to be a cell phone. Somehow, in people's minds, the cellphone in a car is the root of all evil.......not the hamburger in the car, not the coffee in the car, not the ipod in the car...just the cellphone....

I dont get it....why is it worse than anything else? No, it is not more distracting than having a normal conversation in the car........and as far as using your hands, yes, that is bad....but no worse than smoking in the car, eating in the car, looking at a map in the car....and a whole host of other things...

Sorry...just an excuse for a rant!

Who are these idiot people who think the government has the right to intrude into the personal lives of it's citizens? Who is the government to tell me where I can smoke? Why can't I smoke in my truck? Are these tree-hugging liberals going to run alongside my truck and huff my second-hand smoke?

What's next? I can't smoke in my own house? It's bad enough that they have laws now that allow the damned government to take my house and land without my permission if they decide to put a country club there for the rich!

That's the trouble with liberals, they think government is the answer to all the questions in society. If they don't like something, outlaw it. Nothing like a little Communism, eh?

I'll smoke any damned place I want to!

Why is it that those that don't smoke choose to regulate people who do? Who positioned you in charge of others lives. enable me guess, you bought in somebody's automobile and that they began smoking. in case you have been that apprehensive approximately it you're starting to be to be only gotten out. this would possibly not be approximately pollution using fact the automobile pollutes extra in a million minute than smoking an entire %. will do. using fact of those that go on the ban wagon approximately 3 bars and 2 eating places via me have long gone out of employer. some those that don't drink would think of that's good yet what approximately all the those that last those places harm? The bartenders, waitresses, cook dinner, busboys, transport human beings. additionally the those that offered them transport drivers, print shops the checklist is going on. all those folk have families. of path you do no longer care with reference to the proprietors of the places, they invested their lives right into a employer this is tough to make a take great element approximately. some had taken years to circulate from getting further into debt to commencing as much as make a income. there become one new job over it however, the liquor shop had to hire one extra individual yet purely for the weekends. i be attentive to, we ought to continuously ban something that's no longer favourite. in case you do no longer in good shape into the mildew then you certainly would be arrested fined and imprisoned. right this is the hot checklist of issues we ought to continuously make unlawful to boot to smoking. being gay getting old being too skinny being too fat being too short being too tall being the incorrect faith being the incorrect shade Wait this is sounding straightforward like they did this in the previous. Hmmmm

No! This smoking ban thing is getting way out of hand! Smokers have rights too. While I agree that smoking should be kept seperate, it is absolutely outrageous to presume to take away our right to expose ourselves to it. What's next- banning you from exposing yourself to STD's or porn in the privacy of your home? If I decided that I didn't want you to risk injuring yourself shaving, could I ban you from having access to razors? Pet birds pose a risk of contracting psittacosis- should I ban you from owning them? Whatever happened to personal freedom? Live and let live? My body, my choice? Has anyone outlawed your breath? Look, your right to swing your arm ends where someone else's nose begins. My smoking in my car has no effect on you whatsoever. Leave people and their personal choices alone. We haven't banned you from dressing the way you do just because we wouldn't choose it for ourselves.

I am a former smoker...I say no...it is a personal right to do what you want in the privacy of your own space...it would amount to banning smoking in your own home....we know how well these types of bans work...Prohibition....ban it in the office airport Gov. buildings..etc..but leave bars restaurants and personal space alone..let finance deside..if a bar owner wants smoking..patrons whom abhor it can go elsewhere...

The government should stay out of our lives. We do not need the government controlling every aspect of our existence. No more laws!!! However...

Nothing saddens me more than to look over at a car with all the windows rolled up and someone is puffing away on a cigarette, with children sitting in the seat beside them. All I can think of is how horrible it must be for the children.

Generally, smoking is a offensive and obnoxiously unhealthy habit predispositioned for the ignorant of our society.

No! It doesn't affect one's driving at all. Taking a drag on a cigarette isn't something that requires concentration. Most of the time I do it without thinking.
