I have traveled all over the world and am always happy to return to the USA. It's simply a better system to live in, period! Despite the growing liberalized government in the USA, it's still the best place to live in the entire world, just no question about it. Everywhere I've traveled, I hear people tell me they want to come to America.
I would say there are those in the world that hate for hate's sake, ie the Muslims. And then there are those that are jealous of the USA and hate it for that reason. Others are downright hypocrites as they will criticize the country while enjoying it's benefits. Foreigners come to the USA to be educated and spout hate and discontent the whole time they are there, yes, that's superb hypocrisy.
It's human nature to criticize those on top. The facts are that most of the world envy's the country and wants to immigrate to it.

The USA (i.e. many people in the USA) thinks it's better than the other countries and it can do whatever it wants and not be bound by the same rules as other countries. In addition, many Americans have an almost religious belief in the USA and think it's incapable of doing anything really bad. We're always making "well-intentioned mistakes."
However, there's lots of money and opportunity here. It's relatively easy to come and work and make more than people in many countries. Anfd living here itself is not so bad, especially if you're coming from a relatively poor place.
What people hate is not necessarily the US, because there's plenty to like (people all ove the world like US popular culture, syles, music, etc) but the arrogance of Us dealings with the rest of the world.

The hypocrisy is largely due to the US's multiple personality disorder when it comes to foreign affairs.
People throughout the world are much more similar than we are led to believe. They all want to have an easy life with high incomes to raise their children without any needs unmet.
This is the part of America that inspires people worldwide. The opportunity, regardless of sex or race, to become wealthy by world standards.
What inspires the hatred and mistrust are our covert and not so covert meddling in local affairs worldwide. Our blind support of Israel over the Palestinians, Our exposed CIA operations resulting in the deaths of million worldwide and the installation of dictators and religious extremists as country leaders.
What has confirmed the rumors has been our invasion of Iraq. A country that only had one threat to the US - oil. Our treatment of civilians has not helped matters either. Abu Gharab, GTMO, Secret prisons, the adoption of a torture policy, and "Bring em' on!" have all directly fed into what many in the world see the real USA.
Our leaders and politicians are all well aware of this. They all know that "they hate us because we are great" is a lie.
Unfortunately the fiction, for the most part, is in the mind of the average American. The average voter that remains blissfully unaware of what lengths the US government has taken to support US corporate interests throughout the world.
Millions have died or gone hungry when their governmental leaders displeased the US. We gave Saddam the technology and support necessary for his use of WMD on the Kurds and Iraqis, then, years later, used those attacks as a part of the justification for the invasion and the eventual execution of Iraq's leadership.
We trained Usama and others in the proper way to convert military munitions to IEDs, because he was fighting the Russians in Afghanistan. He formed al Qaeda and he and others passed the training along, and IED's are now killing our servicemen just as well as they did the Russians.
A small tribe in Africa is forced to eat hoodia plant in times of less than adequate food supplies because the plant removes hunger. Large corporation hears the news and gets some samples from the tribe. The samples are reduced and analyzed, the active ingredient is identified and then patented by the corporation. In an industrialized world full of obese over-eaters, the tribe cannot sell their plant, because of the patents held based on samples they offered up in good faith.
The examples are many if you look. As more and more documents are declassified each year, we learn a little more about these events. And each new release seems to suggest that just maybe some of these people have genuine grievances and reasons to distrust the US.
Time for our government to remove the wall of fiction concerning involvement in other nation's affairs. Time to be balanced, fair, and honest, both with the American people and the people throughout the world.
"...All men are created equal...." not "..American men are created above all other nations..."
Until our foreign policy reflects the "make the voter feel good" rhetoric in Washington, we will continue to generate enemies throughout the world.
What good are all the biggest bombs and military toys if we can't leave our home because we have angered so many?
Why this hypocrisy?

Part 1 Because we are the 6'4" 14 year old kid down the block who can kick yer daddy's *** Nobody likes a punk kid and compared to most nations time in existence that's what we are. A punk kid.
Part 2. Who better to have your back than the biggest kid on the block? Who can take care of you better? Nobody.
Our allies know they are safer in their homes, at least from foreign threats, because we have their back.
And America is the land of dreams. There are lots of places where you can never own a house like The Beav lived in, or the Brady Bunch wow what a pad. We've been hammering the world with images like that for decades. And you wonder why so many people want to come here?
But while I was writing this, Billy said it even better.

Well, you know, there are people that will spew all sorts of nonsensical ca-ca while they're in their little backyards amongst their cronies... known as peer-pressure... the have-nots and the wannabees that will quickly sing a different tune once they have the chance of coming here. Oftentimes our worst ghettos are luxurious compared to their "upper-middle" communities... and I'm not making fun of their plight, just reporting it as it is, with everyday violence like we've never seen here in the USA, the worst kind of government corruption and living with fear every moment of the day and night, not knowing if the water and/or electricity will be turned on or continue to stay off, having to boil faucet water, relying on waste water from the dishes to flush toilets (if they can afford one) and saving rain water to wash dishes and sharing bath water among family members every e few days when they can take a weekly bath... raw sewage water and the foul odors... lack of adequate medical attention... lack of adequate educational facilities for the children... kidnappings, murders rapes, robberies as common, everyday occurrences.... that's all they've known all their lives.
Oftentimes they hear so much negative propaganda as their ONLY source of (mis)information that they believe whatever they hear but once someone comes here and goes back to visit and they hear from someone who's actually BEEN here, they quickly change their minds and the ideas of hope and a better future start to germinate in their minds!
IT is really like the one doesn't have and can't afford and has not any means of getting something and will try to convince himself and others that they really don't want it... whatever the "it" may be. The Tom Sawyer and the fence painting routine!
WHAT can Americans do to dispel such negative notions? We can stop being arrogant. We don't have to pen our borders to the world, but we don't have to be arrogant, either. THAT is the best form of positive propaganda we can ALL spread most effectively. We don't have to flex our muscles or show our might.... that only breeds hate, discontent and hostility. There's an old Buddhist say, "Don't make your enemies hate you." We can have them respect us and admire us instead if we demonstrate wisdom and respect and concern for our fellow man... particularly those worse off than our own poor.... but what does it say for us if we promote hate or killing or torture of prisoners or show the world that we don't even care about our own disabled, retired, elderly and poor? What can other nations say when our elected officials lie and cheat and break promises or use sophist ploys to and show no respect for other nations' rights or the rights of others?
Remember, that even the common house kitty is a mighty lion (in his own mind) amongst the small bushes.

It's like I said time and time again....... The world loves America as long as it's shelling out the money, aid, and relief supplies. America is also loved when it comes to the rescue of another nation who is in trouble and American boys shed their blood. Otherwise, the world hates our guts.
The world is quick to criticize the US, but foreigners are beating down the doors trying to get student visas so they can get an education here, flocking over the borders to get jobs, and fleeing their countries to get asylum here in this country.
If we're so bad, why does everyone want to come here, take what we have to offer, and want to become American citizens?

Well, jealousy is a key factor and not to mention a lot of lies are typically spread about a Super Power. We are constantly under a microscope because we are the top nation at the current time, others can easily fly under the radar when they have their own faults they should be addressing.

USA is hated in other countries because it intervenes in most of their local affairs. Nevertheless, there are many people in other countries who wanted to come to the US because there are more job opportunities with higher salaries and the standard of living is high.

The US has friends and allies all over the world. People may not like the way we do things, but they like the fact that we do things.
