The only way to know is how you feel inside. There is no magic test or anything that can tell you, you have to decide for yourself how you want your life and what do to do achieve it. That being said, if you are having a hard time try talking to a gender therapist and explain your feelings and thoughts and they will help you realize what you would like to do with your life and how to achieve it.

crossdresser is
1) A male who dresses as a woman for emotionall or sexual pleasure
2) A woman who dresses like a man for emotinal or sexual pleasure
A transsexual is
1) A man who has suffered the unfortunate medical condition of being born with a vagina and breasts.
2) a woman with the unfortunate medical condition of being born with a penis and testicles

Two answers I can think:
1)If on the inside you are uncomfortable or are not sure you were given the body you were meant for.
2)Look in the mirror. If you are a guy in a dress chances are you may be a crossdresser and vice versa.

a cross dresser is a male person (usually straight) who likes to wear women's clothes.
a transsexual is a person who is gender corrected by having a sex change from male to female or vice versa.

A TS knows they have the wrong body. A CD has the right body but likes dressing as the opposite sex.
