When I started the Internet Explorer, a website pop-up and appears to be "Law Society of Singapore", prompting for login ID and password.
I could not go to other website whenever this happened.
I wonder is there anyone who encounter the same problem before.
Any suggestion how I can get rid of it?
Many thanks in advance.

I am not sure what the "Law Society of Singapore" is but if you have spyware on your machine read on.....
You need two programs (maybe three). The two I recommend are SpyBot Search & Destroy and AdAware.
The can both be found on this page http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_spyware.html
Download, install and update both programs.
Restart your computer and tap the F8 key on your keyboard as the computer begins to start - this will give you the option of starting in Safe Mode - see more about running a computer in Safe Mode here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/how_to_start_in_safe_mode.html
Run full system scans with both programs, they should be able to find the problems and remove them.
Restart the computer in "normal mode" and see what happens.
The third program which I find helpful is HiJackThis (for advanced user, the is a powerful tool!) and Windows Defender - which can be found here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_spyware.html
. I have used all of these programs on many computers. I have had a 100% success rate on removing spyware/adware and viruses.
I have also found that using MSCONFIG can be very helpful in removing spyware and adware - see more about MSCONFIG here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/how_to_use_msconfig.html
Here is a full article on how to remove spyware - check it out - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/how_to_remove_spyware.html
Good Luck!
Oh, and also, I would download Mozilla Firefox - (web browser), it's much more secure than Internet Explorer and it has a built in pop-up blocker (Google Toolbar) - you can find it here - http://www.malwaresolutions.com/tools_browsers.html

Here's what you should do.
1st, don't waste your time with AVG, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.
2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. I wouldn't recommend Norton Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. It blocks over 170,600 threats. No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. It catches everything. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.
3rd, after you install and update the software, since its in your system you will have to turn off system restore and then go into safe mode and run the scan and eliminate the virus. then after removal, reboot and turn system restore back on.
4th, (Optional) I recommend a Firewall from Zone Alarm, their free version is so good. Or you can buy their Pro version, but the free version will do more than the job.
5th, any probs during or after you do all this, send me an e-mail.

you would be able to effectively shop those products as they are the end results of you employing a private firewall and antivirus that overrides the abode windows application as a default. they seem on the test as a precaution so as which you're conscious the abode windows application isn't controlling your protection on the laptop and because microsoft BEGGED to have it put in so as that they might have a window to reactivate the abode windows validation gadget by using the firewall settings

Just click the tools tab in IE and click internet options. Change the home page addy to whatever page you want. If you cant change it, you probably have a home page hijacker but I havent heard of "Law Society of Singapore" as a hijacker.

SpyBot is not the only thing you need to do, go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and do an online scan.
