Recently I made an online purchase with a company that required my credit card. The company is not a fraudulent company or anything, it's just a normal one. www.strategyfirst.com (or perhaps digital river, a company they might have hired to manage their sales). Their billing system had an error and charged my credit card twice for one item.

I emailed them requesting a refund, but was told that they process no refunds.

I feel almost robbed by the fact that I didn't authorize them to bill me twice.

QUESTION: What are my options to take in getting my money back?

(if you are not answering the question, please do not answer. I am not interested in your opinion about using credit cards on the internet. Sorry to turn away so many potential replies, but it can be difficult to get a direct answer on yahoo answers. People usually are too braindead/self-centered to answer the actual question)

If you've already tried the company that charged your card, and they haven't helped...call your credit card company. Tell them that you want to dispute a charge, and they will open a case for you. You'll likely need to fill out a form or write a letter with the specifics of what happened, including when and how you contacted them seeking resolution (so keep that e-mail back from them). Disputes are time sensitive, so call right away.

The next proper step is to contact your credit card company and request a stop payment for the second charge and explain why.
I have had to do this in the past, it can take a while for the CC company to resolve the issue - however they will hold any interest due on the charge till the problem is resolved or completed.

And you say they are not a fraudulent company.Maybe after the third cahrge you might think so? I would be mad.I would be on the phone with them non stop until they refunded me my money either by putting it back into the bank account or by sending me a check.
