Commercials are hard to write and far too long people have tried to make them intentionally good. I think an easier way would be to make commercials really stupid on purpose. Tell jokes that are not supposed to be funny in any way.

I like the idea of that because the joke is so BAD that it is almost ironically good. I think this could start a trend. Tell incredibly stupid jokes during commercials and then have the guy get beat up at the end for telling the bad joke.

Here's one for a soap commercial:

Some guys are playing the boardgame "Risk". One of the players accidentally trips and lands on one of the pieces and it gets stuck in his eye and blood squirts out like a spring)

Announcer: Wow. Your face got all dirty. You better use some "Eye-risk Spring" (Irish Spring) to clean that off!

The announcer then gets hit in the head with a wrench.

(It was called "Eye-risk spring" because he hurt his eye and he was playing "Risk" and the blood came out like a spring)

Also, once the announcer is beaten up for telling the lame joke, nothing else is said or done.

The people just stare at him in silence for like ten seconds and then the camera fades out.

Here's another commercial for toilet paper (Charmin toilet paper):

A guy is sitting next to a campfire when he suddenly has to go to the bathroom, but he trips and falls into the fire and dies.

Announcer: Looks like he should have used "Charred-Man" toilet paper.

(because Charmin kind of sounds like charred man, or someone who has been burned)

The announcer gets punched in the balls, but not because of what he said about the other guy’s dead friend, but because the joke was so bad.

The camera fades to black.

I don't think it would work. I'm trying to compare it to the commercial where the old lady comes up to the counter after buying a burger and asks "where's the beef?" It's simple, very few words, that is a lot harder to do right' but when it does it's a hit.
