I know I have PCOS but I haven't been diagnosed yet. I have almost every symptom there is (facial hair, darkened skin, occasional missed periods)
Well, in the past year or so my periods have been pretty regular meaning they come every month. Does that mean that I could possibly get pregnant? Does an egg have to go through its cycle before you get your period or does it not matter? I've been trying to concieve for 3 years and was wondering if maybe my on-schedule periods were a sign of fortune to come?

Hey I am not a doctor or anything but my best friend knew she had PCOS and got treated for 3 years, she is now 16 weeks pregnant.... so there is always hope. I dont think you should assume you have it because my friend didnt have the symptoms you have mentioned, she just had irregular periods. I am quite sure that an egg has to come through for a period to happen otherwise why would the body cleanse itself, the period blood is all the stuff you collected in case the egg you had produced got fertilized. so passing out the blood means ... no fertilization, it doesnt necessarily mean no egg. please get a professional diagnosis before getting upset ... there may be a more superficial problem that ordinary meds can deal with. start the treatment for PCOS if you have it and beleive me sooner or later you will get pregnant, medicine had advanced sooooo much now, there is hope for everyone. I wish you all the best.

I too have PCOS, you really need to go to the doctor, it can cause infertility. I have one good ovary and one bad ovarie which means one period is fine and the next may not show up. The doctor will put you on horomones so that you cycle can get back to normal. About 90 percent of women who get treated for this will concieve within the first year..Dont wait any longer to go get this confirmed it could be very serious! Pregnancy could also be a factor if you havnt gotten your period yet, i thought i was pregnnat when i went to the doctor and found out it was PCOS becaue of the symptoms, so honestly your best bet is to go to the doctor, if you do have it you need to get treatment immediatly or you might find yourself infertile. Best of Luck!

I can't comment on the syndrome because I don't have it. But I read something interesting recently. I am following the South Beach Diet and they interviewed a women with PCOS who could not conceive. She went on the plan, lost weight, her periods regulated and she conceived immediately. It is worth a shot. Good Luck

your first step is to go into the doctor and 1. get checked for pcos. second, have them check your uterus and have them tell you what they think of it.. i know that sounds funny.. but thats what my doctor did. when they found out i had pcos. just keep trying and go in for those test, best of luck to you ^.^ remember the best time to try is 2-5 days after your period ^.~

Could be other hormonal issues. Best to see a gynocologist to verify thats the problem. Most likely s/he can refer you to a endocronologist to fix any hormonal type problems.

Unfortunately, there are lots of women out there with fertility problems. There are also alot more options/poosiblities out there now too.

Good luck.
