Ban all goals, concepts of profit and hierachy, people would be self sufficient tending to their own farm patch with no need to think of anything else at all. Hence with no need to interact with their fellow beings in existence, bribery is a shortcut route to obtaining the end proposal, once that becomes reality, no one will recall that it was a bribe which made the whole thing possible

The only way to get rid of bribery is by exposing each and every corrupt official in the government to the people. In that way at least they will feel ashamed and stop accepting bribes.

People have worked hard to have it get entrenched in public life and achieved it... it is now too late to even stop its fast progress into the most sensitive areas like the defence and diplomatic circles..!
At least there was a time when the leaders set examples in honesty... Now we can not find people even to cite as example... As the learned editor of a popular Tamil weekly (Tuglak) writes often, it is most unsafe even to applaud someone as an honest person, because some news may come about his involvement in some shady deal, at a later date, making us feel bad... Such is the situation in these days..
People err, blunder and fall to rock bottom in the values of public life.. not merely for personal gains. It may all start as a compulsion to help a kingpin whom you had benefitted from (not necessarily in the wrong way) in the past, as a gratitude - by some out-of-the-way means, in a critical situation, hesitatingly...
Frequent compulsions to show such "gratitude" to more and more VIPs by the public servant (politician / official) makes him ultimately less and less sensitive to finer sense of honesty.. This was the case a few decades ago..
Now even parents - who should be expected to be more careful about the character of their wards - are expressing happiness when they earn out of the way... For they had bribed heavily to get seats for them in the prestigeous educational institutions, in getting a profitable placement for them... nearly the whole wealth of a generation is normally invested in the interest of the wards...
And they expect the kids to be wise enough to retrieve the lost property by the same means in which they had earned the education and livelihood, from the society...! How can you reverse the trend, dear brother.. ?
The wise and poor student is damned to rot in some lowly job, for he lacks the wherewithal to earn the right education for which he is so well suited... Do you think he will still stand by the ethics and accept the fate lying down.. ?
Either he may revolt or adopt all unfair means to earn more and put his children at least on a better footing in life..
I know umpteen cases of such persons hailing from decent families, resorting to all unfair means, in sheer desparation... and WIN... Such tainted win does not make them feel bad... they feel the society does not deserve honest means.. Perversion is complete..
Politicians armed with the powers to make the laws, they themselves flout all laws.. In the words of Lord Jesus "if the salt loses its savour, wherewtih shall it be salted?"
But the world can not run behind this illusion indefinitely... the trend has to revert someday... Just as the great patriotic India had become the house of corrupt rulers now, from these shall emerge persons of character and lead us into a bright future.. May sound as a dream in the immediate future, but shall be a reality ultimately... For, history (the writing on the wall) shows clearly how the ups and downs of culture alternate, thro and thro' its pages...

This is an international problem. It can only be resolved if the officials are willing to take part. Trap the culprit, catch them on video cam. Give a copy to the offiicials, and another to the media.

educate ppl. but the charity starts frm home so we should first ourselves stop giving bribery. whn we take the easy route the results are obviously bad and we blame the govt for our acts which is such a hypocracy.
