That must be confusing - keep a separate window for each - that way u don't get confused and they find out about each other!

A local area network is a computer network covering a small geographic area, like a home, office, or group of buildings

That would mean, At a minimum, you have 8 computers with a Ethernet connection between every 2, 4 separate networks that dont communicate with each other!

What are you talking about!

you'll need a router which can take in 4 lan cables and monitor it via a software installed on ur PC. This type of router is manufactured by netgear and should be available at any PC store near you.

You can have 4 lans; you can even have more. Large comapanies partition their networks into many different local networks to control departmental traffic and communications.
To monitor your lan froma single PC, you need specialized network monitoring tools. Goods ones don't come free, but try www.spiceworks.com.

use VNC to monitor LAN by LAN?

if u have a computer which has 4 LAN interfaces you can wire all of them up . but i doubt so.
