Hi,
Ashram is a very good school. They teach good ethics compared to most schools in chennai.

But, ICSE curriculum is what I am bothered about. I think you can opt for CBSE till 10'th std and then shift to State Board for 12'th.

You should have a Degauss option in the monitors OSD menu. Try hitting that a few times. However, you will need to wait about 20 minutes between cycles for the degauss circuit to reset properly. If that is not having an effect then take the monitor to a TV repair shop and they will be able to use a much more powerful degauss wand or ring on it. It will take about 30 seconds to fix. I would strongly advise against strapping magnets to a drill. That looks like a good way to get a magnet embedded in the wall, or even worse in you.

ICSE is obviously better than CBSE as the syllabus is much practical. Not like CBSE teaching geography in Physics(UNIVERSE chapter). But no idea about ashram. You should opt for ICSE atleast upto class10.After that it is better to go for CBSE as the ISC course is pretty tough and there is hardly anytime for preparation for the competitive exams, especially IIT.
