I love it when people write about the ordinary and make it unusual. That's what you did - take ants and make it their story. I wrote a short short story about a lonely firefly desperately trying to find a mate before the end of firefly season.

VERY enjoyable. Quite a good read. One typo - Jack Daniels with an S. Otherwise I liked it very much.
We think very much alike. Actually I have one single ant in my first floor bathroom. He has been there since summer. He seems hopelessly lost. Sometimes I just watch him walk circles across my little carpet with pink roses and green leaves. It seemed to me that he climbed up onto the carpet when it got cold. He used to walk around the tile outside the carpet but there isnt any heat in that bathroom and those Italian tiles get doggone cold in the winter - hence the rug. Yes, I occasionally leave him a crumb of bread. No, I havent named him although the name Moses sometimes crosses my mind.
So what does that mean? Are we both destined to meet one day in a drug rehab? LOL ... Probably not - Ive already been there, done that, bought the T shirt.
Keep writing. Your style is wonderfully refreshing, irreverent and delightful. I could see you publishing an anthology of the world according to Big Jim. Im placing my order now.
