Ah, to sue or not to sue, that is the question. Looking for a quick buck? How about this: Why don't you pay more attention to what you 3.5 year old brat is doing while you are in the store then you won't have to worry about it having an accident? It is not the responsibility of the store to babysit your rug-rat while you are shopping. The store is not responsible for everything that happens inside due to neglect from parents.
Stop trying to get rich quick. Learn to be a good parent. And yes, the coffee in the McDonalds cup IS FRIGGIN HOT.
You make me sick.

It depends. Was the broken finger a result of an intentional or negligent act on the part of the store? If yes, then you would probably have a cause of action against the store. Of course, this might require you filing a legal action, and that would probably cost you more than it's worth.
If you suspect that the store did something wrong, I would talk to the manager or owner and try to work something out.

Nope looks like he learned a painful lesson. Watch your fingers.
And not just by the way watch your own kids instead of counting on the grocery store employees to do it for you.

If the stores people were negligent, contributing to the injury to the baby, yes, then you have a case for compensation: if, on the other hand, the onus of taking care was on you, then, no, your case is a bad case! (hope the injury is not too bad, baby doing well. all the best!)

compensation is for people who need compensated (loss of income due to injury)
sorry but in my opinion, the world is going crazy with everyone sueing everyone for their own mistakes... a 3.5YO will not lose any income due to a broken baby finger - therefore no compensation, or are you feeling guilty for not watching said child and then him hurting himself

don't start suing people just for the sake of doing it. if the store is truly at fault for you child's injury than yes. but it is ridiculous to sue for no reason, even though everyone seems to be doing it.

instead of worrying about compensation for something your child did at a store, get the child to the doctor for an xray. ice the finger, tape it to the one next to it, and treat for pain.
