My opinion is that God exists.
But I cannot prove it.
I have no reason to believe it other than a response to a desire for self-preservation.
In other words, I prefer to have this opinion because I prefer for this opinion to be true.
But not knowing the outliers and variables of my short-sightedness, I must modify that statement to, "I believe that this is my preference within the boundaries and limitation of my ability to know annything at all. All my knowledge is based on a presumption that I am what I appear to be. A cognizant reflective ego, that perceives that there are other cognizant reflective ego's that, in turn, perceive, quite nearly exactly as I do.
This is my opinion.
My opinion is given with the understanding that I am ignorant of unknowns. But that the unknowns are not necessarily unknowable.
This is how I qualify my "opinion" about God.
So, branching from my opinion, comes the necessary statement:
"Atheism is the default"
And from that default stems an infinite regression of opinion - all of them equally invalid as valid.
