It was first built by William the Conqurer in 1070 something.
It was built on a defesive position on the Thames to show the locals who was now in charge.
Down the years it has been a royal mint, zoo, prison for those of high status,arsenal.
It was used to hold prisoners in ww2.
The Ravens in the tower have there wings clipped to prevent them from flying away as a legend says that if that should happen the monarchy will fall.
Oh forgot its home to The Crown Jewels

It's been a Royal Palace, a prison, a symbol of the power of the Norman invaders and a stronghold for the royal gold and jewels (it still houses the Crown Jewels today) and was once the Royal Mint.

It's been there a long time, and it brings in the tourists to be ripped of in London. No one loses their heads there any more, but they sure lose their money!
