sometimes, especially if you want something so badly but can accept the fact that you can't achieve it right now ... it takes a bit of mental strength to make you settle for something less!

giving up could be both a sign of strength and weakness.
it's a sign of strength when someone beats u or insult u in the school for example and u don't respond to him.I believe that if u don't answer him this means not that u r weak or afraid but that u can answer him but u r not an animal to use ur body to resolve problems.u just have to react but in a differant way.
it also could be a sign of weakness if a thief is in ur house and u know it but do nothing and prefer to hide ,if u give up to the idea that the thief may hurt u if u appear to him.then u r weak and courd

yes. this is because when we sign in it will give us a good image that a person is like to sign in. if there is more people to sign in it is really a very high strength to all of us.

If you give up like a coward maybe not but if you give up for something you care about then that's a sign of strength.

It may be a sign of a lack of resolve or a realization that you were wrong.
It may be a sign of good sense or weakness, but not strength . . .unless you gave up a bad habit, but even then it's probably not strength.
It may demonstrate that you are able to think rationally about whatever it was that you gave up.
So it depends upon what you gave up, why you gave up, your state of mind, your goals, etc.
Not enough information to give a straight answer.

Giving up in achieving the impossible is not strength, giving up hopelessness despite of impossibility IS strength!

Depends what you give up. Crack, cocaine, alcohol, yeah you need strength for that and will power.
Give up going to the sports club, your car, your pet dog...that doesn't need much strength

If someone gives up smoking or any else bad habit, as well as if someone gives up somebody he/she loves much for the sake of one's duty... Then, yes, it's a sigh of strength.
