May 29,1914- The Empress of Ireland sank in the St.Lawrence River off Rimouski< Quebec. She was ramed by a Norwegian freighter and when the freighter reversed engines she went down in less than 15 min.
The Empress of Ireland took all but 462 of the 1477 souls on board with her.
After the collision, the crew of the Storstad made valiant rescue efforts. Many of the 465 dazed survivors were pulled from the icy water as only seven lifeboats left the doomed vessel. The ship sank so quickly, a single S.O.S. cry escaped.
The wireless operator at the Father Point Station received and reacted to the plea. The mail carriers, The Lady Evelyn and the Eureka, arrived too late. Only debris and lifeless bodies remained.. One thousand 78 lives were lost, less than 300 bodies were found. Most of the dead were entombed in the stricken vessel. The hysterical next of kin fought over the barely identifiable remains.

Titanic had two sister ships the Olympic and the Britannic. the Britannic sank, but the cause is still debated, between a torpedo or an underwater mine, but what is not debated is she sank faster then her sister ship titanic.

at the time the Britannic was being used as a troop/hospital ship, it is believed she had all her porthole open to bring in fresh air when the explosion happened and allowed the ship o sink more quickly to the bottom. The Britannic is not as deep as her sister and some research has been don on her.

Olympic sailed on for many year and was retired and sold for scrap.

The Lusitania, which was a competitor of the Titanic, was torpedoed by a German submarine in 1915.

That's the only one I can think of.
