1. David Wenham is definitely the hottest. He was the guy who lost his eye, and went back to Sparta after the war.
2. I'm not sure. Maybe he was recuperating from the cut on his face. Maybe getting a little plastic surgery so he could look prettier for the next war.

2. Excellent question. The Spartan empire fell after the death of Leonidas so there was nothing left there for him to conquer.

movie is based headed more to entertainment than fact. sparta collapsed after xerxes defeated the 300 spartans. king leonidas went on the suicide mission to inspire the greeks to unite as one and fight the persians back to where they came from

Xerxes first sacked Athens but then had most of his fleet destroyed at the battle of Salamis thus rendering most of his enormous army without supplies. Soon after that, the remainder of Xerxes army that was left in Greece was defeated at the Battle of Platea like they say in the movie. Xerxes never even got close to Sparta.
