sarah, fire your maid. First ask you current maid if she truly need the job. Then tell her that she isnt paid to talk on the phone and watch tv.

Ask around, perhaps your tea lady or those apartment cleaners knows somebody from medan who are keen to work as a maid. Find someone over 35 who can cook and love children. It is okay for a maid to own a mobile phone as long as the job is done. There are many indonesians out there who truly need the job. dont bother with those coming from east java or those who never tasted chicken or beef before. Coz very likely they dont know how to cook as well.
One wonders how they survive all these time, how did they raise their child if they cant even cook rice, and cant even fry a decent fried fish.

Oh Sarah, I dun think the government will take up your proposal just becos your maid sits around to watch TV9.

What I can suggest to you is that you adjust the tuning on TV for the particular station to a non existing frequency. This will stop your maid from watching TV9... but I cannot guarantee you that she won't watch other channels, ok?

tv9 is crappy. Luckily my current indonesian helper does not watch tv often, she sometimes watch tv3 8pm news, once in a blue moon she watch malay movies on tv3. She flipped newspaper although she didnt understand a single english word. She is a fantastic helper and we love her dearly.

its true sarah, its hard to find good maid these days. This helper is my second one. I fired my first helper for merely lying. people makes mistakes and i can handle mistakes, but not lying. hehe..

Well, the government should NOT ban TV9. You should ban your maid/give her certain limits on watching TV.

I sincerely believe that Malaysia should have more TV channels. Its about time people start watching more stuff on TV than those cheesy TV123 and 7.

I had this similar experience too and what was the result? An AirAsia ticket back to Jakarta for my maid :-)

No. it is not strange. whilst my cat become a kitten, he might spend hours staring at slightly youngster teach referred to as Connie the Cow. as quickly as we became it off, he might run removed from the television set till we positioned it returned on.
