Do you prefer one over the other?
I love them both, but don't have a cat at this stage in life. I have 2 dogs though, they are the greatest (to me anyway!)

2 dogs: Peppe & Angus
4 cats: Gibson, Shiraz, Ollie & (little) Tink
plus 2 birds Charlie & Tessa
one fish Chianti.

I prefer cats though I have both cats and dogs.

Dogs..they don't jump on your kitchen table or counter,and no smelly litter box. Did you ever have to clean one of those?
Cat hair has little barbs on each shaft. It is very hard to remove from fabric. If you are good to your dog they will luv ya to death. Cats are too independant and tempermental. It's like they have PMs all the time.
