Sadly, the Kurds have been the kicking-boys of every other Middle Eastern country for a long, long time. In many parts of the Middle East, calling someone a Kurd is a big insult.

The Kurds have certainly eaten enough bitterness that they deserve their own country. And considering that Turkey has spent the last several decades heavily oppressing its own Kurdish minority, it would be perverse to allow the Turks to dictate when the Kurds can and cannot be free. Considering that the US allowed the Kurds to be massacred after the first Gulf War, I think we have a responsibility to help bring them to independence if the want it. Looks like they want it.

I hope that the Kurds get their wish of breaking off from Iraq and making their own way. I further hope that they hook up with their brothers in Turkey and bring them to freedom as well. It's already well past due for the Kurds to claim their own place among the nations.

You need an English writing course.
The question is:
"When will the Kurds gain their independence?"
I also prefer to listen. But I sometime throw my two cents into the pot.

The Kurds have been a part of Iraq for a long time.
Unfortunately for those who drew country lines, did not think it should have been done by ethnicity. But geographical lines.

At this time, it is important for the lines drawn making Iraq one entity must be maintained. If the Kurds are permitted to split from Iraq, all hell will break loose in the middle east. It would be just as bad if it were announced Mecca was to become property of Israel. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

If the Kurds are split, Turkey will become upset, other nearby countries will also be unhappy and we will have another mess.
Think about this for about twenty more years, see where Kurdistan is and ask again. If for some reason, the Iraqi dream falls apart in the next year or two, after about 500 years of fighting, it may happen.
