It fills up with water and goes through the first part of the cycle, then it just stops and won't do anything - what might be the problem? I am obviously going to get it repaired, but I just wanted to know what it might be (a blocked pipe, a broken motor, or....?) Any suggestions will be appreciated - thanks!

If it kicks into the spin cycle but then stops it could just be that the clothes are not evenly distributed and they are making it stop. Mine does that sometimes and I have to re-arrange the clothes. Another washer I had did what you are talking about but I don't know what part had to be replaced, sorry. I think the part cost about $40 though.

i got here upon a blockage in the flexy pipe popping out of the decrease back of mine! purely 'flex' the pipe...it may sense fairly heavy, that's the accumulation of greasy gunge from detergent, alot will purely destroy sparkling, yet its asserting theres a buildup of gunge in the showering gadget. Get a bag of Washing Soda, ASDA, fifty 5 pence, empty entire bag into gadget, very heat wash (no cleansing soap or clothing) this would sparkling any gunge, and supply your drains a spring sparkling. So good, I try this the different month.

I think that there is a way that a sock can get into the water pump and cause this problem.
