You can leave any time. I ran away from an abusive home at fifteen, and even while sleeping under overpasses I knew I was better off where I was.
Be aware, though, that it is a cold, rainy and dangerous world. You need a good reason to leave and subject yourself to years of poverty and hunger, and will have to work harder than anyone else to get an education and have a career.
Still, I am here to tell you it can be done. Just consider your reasons before you go, and gather your resources carefully.
Don't expect your friends to shelter you for long, because they can't afford to, and think carefully before you let the system put you in a group home or foster care, because many of the kids in care are dangerous sociopaths or drug users.
Safest way is to get a job, even delivering papers. Do not tell your family or friends you have, or where, and save your first two months' rent before you leave. Find out what social services are available, but do not allow yourself to be taken into care.
Stay clean and straight. Only the wealthy can afford vices. I see people around who were on the street when I was, and they are burnt out by the alcohol and crack they bought when they should have been eating better.
Watch your diet, and avoid junk food. Poor people need to look after their teeth, because dentists don't work cheap. Free clinics usually only do extractions, and leave you toothless.
Good luck, and stay warm.

When #1- you're parents feel comfortable with it, #2- You are financially prepared to live on your own, and #3- you are 18 or in college. Emancipation is possible in some states, but you have to go to court and prove that you have a stable job (6 months) and a workable budget, and can prove that you are responsible, and have never been in legal trouble. Since most minors can't prove any of those things, it is rare for emancipation to be granted.

As soon as your parents let you. My sister moved out when she was 15. She moved in with her boyfriend. My husband moved out when he was 17, but he went to college and stayed in the dorms. By law in the US, you can't rent a place until you are 18 (since you aren't considered an adult until then). And even then, if you are still in high school, your parents may want you to stay at home. So, to answer your question, it depends on where you are. By law, in the US you can't move out until you are 18.

I don't know. I'm sorry things aren't going well for you at home that you feel you want to move out. Best wishes to you. I won't even ask the whys because I know from first hand experience. That some of us had such bad parents that we prayed to be an adult in hopes of leaving the misery we were in.

Check your state laws. In Hawaii, if you can prove you can house, feed, and support yourself, you can file for emancipated minor status at age 16. This takes you out of your parent's control, and you become leagally responsible for yourself. My best friend in High School did this.

When your parents or legal guardian gives permission, or when you are declared to be an "emancipated minor" by a court.
