It's not just the Marines who think so. I think he is a traitor who should be tried for treason and shot!

Jack Murtha was a Vietnam War hero. He is no traitor nor is he a coward. Why is it that others that disagree with someone else's positions on the war have to resort to slandering a person, like Jack Murtha? The man has done nothing but serve in the best interests of his community. He calls the issues as he sees them. The voters in his district still tend to trust and like him and don't see him as a coward or a traitor. If some Marines think he's something he's not, then maybe they've been on the frontlines too long. It's time for all to come home and re-gain some common sense.

I think Murtha was over rated by the Democrats to begin with. He is an aging man, that has forgotten the lessons of war. He shouldn't be a spokesperson, they have used him up now, and I doubt we will be hearing from him much longer.

No, one marine thinks so. I have many friends in the military, a few in the marines, one just retired as a Lt Colonel after serving in all the warzones in the past 20 years. And he says of all the actions he's participated in, he feels iraq is totally bogus. I have another friend who just returned after 8 years in the Army, he spent his Iraq tour riding up and down a pipeline, taking potshots from the insurgents. He says it's all about the oil.
So "the Marines" don't think he's a traitor. One does.

That's bunk. I own a construction company and I take in Veterans as workers coming over from Iraq. They have mixed opinions about what's going on over there, just like people state side. So, don't pretend that the Marines are Goose stepping to the FREEREPUBLIC study as a smear campaign to get Murtha. Marines are trained to think and react to a situation, they are not drones. They can think for themselves, and people who can think for themselves never have a uniform opinion.
