a popular majority for his impeachment, would you support the majorities decision? either way? Shouldn't we as American voters be able to dump a president mid-term if the majority of the population does not want him leading this country anymore?

At this time he has done nothing to be impeached for.
As for 'dumping' mid-term, that is the reason for the Twenty-second Amendment.

If the people could vote to impeach a President? I suppose the political landscape would be littered with impeached Presidents as far back as one would care to look. That's why the people don't have that power; on a whim, either major party could drum up a frenzied call for IMPEACHMENT!!!! IMPEACHMENT!!!! Nothing would ever get accomplished if that were the case. The forefathers were a little more wise than to allow that to occur.

No.
Articles of Impeachment may only be brought for impeachable offenses. Just because you don't like him now isn't good enough.

No...the Constitution gives him a 4 year block barring impeachment for CRIMES..which he has not committed.
You must vote whom you think will do thier best in the next 4 years and go by his decisions...that allown him the ability to make unpopular choices if he thinks they are best for the nation.....going by your method..we dont need a president..just take a popularity poll on every issue and that is the choice...IT DOESN"T WORK LIKE THAT>...

Your scenario (or should I say "our" scenario) would only get much worst for all of us if Bush was impeached. That would only mean that Dick Bruce Cheney would become president in reality, even tho' he's actually making all the calls. I wished it was that easy, but unfortunately, it wouldn't happen. The only way to check unyielding and abusive power is by electing candidates from the opposition party in mid-term elections. That way at least we could have more of a checks and balances type system.

Please read.
You are asking for the wrong thing. What you want is a vote of no confidence and removal. It is not worthwhile a presidential term is only four years. If that is ever put in place we would have presidents kicked out left and right.

Hypothetically, sure I would support the majority decision. After all, that's what democracy is all about.
If the American people voted to nuke Iran would you support it? Hypothetically, of course.
God bless America!

First, amend the Constitution to allow for impeachment in the way you describe. Then we'll talk.
