I just checked my port with “canyouseeme.org – open port check tool,

This is what’s marked:

Error: I could not see your service on 58.521.36.898 on port (52940)
Reason: Connection timed out

now does this mean that the port is closed?

Well all internet (TCP/IP) traffic communicates through various open ports on your system. For instance Port 80 is for websevers, Port 21 for FTP, port 53 for Name servers, etc.

If port 52940 (not normally used) is not open its because you have a firewall that has closed it. (or your ISP did) That is good news unless you need to use that port. Be very careful about what you open, open ports are open doors into your system as well as out. So if you OPEN a door (you get the picture). You do need to know who is comming in and out!

There are 65K ports available you want all of them CLOSED unless you need to use them.
