anyone know what is that called? .. the thing that drop onto the ground when earthquake occurs in the first scene of the film

They're right, it's a snowglobe. Many people like snowglobes so much that they collect different kinds. MY favorite snowglobes are the sort that have a music box in the bottom of them and turn as the music plays.
