It's 3:44 a.m. I'm about to go home to bed & I'm going to have nightmares about 6-5 sentences. Am I the only person that finds this odd?! What does 6-5 sentences mean?! Do you mean 5 to 6 sentences? Or is this a certain esoteric philosophy term I've never heard of? Or are these exam questions or something? I can see if it was a typo but for different people to have several questions with the same thing....it's sheer madness.

Ok. Maybe I'm overtired. I'll be ok.

The answer to your question:

IN FIVE TO SIX SENTENCES:

We lie loudest when we lie to ourselves because we sometimes can't bear to hear the truth. We will cling to our illusions and defend them to the death. Some people will tell themselves their partner is faithful, though they know he's cheating. Some people will swear they can quit whenever they want, though their addictions are killing them and they're out of control. Many of us can't handle the truth. So we deceive ourselves.

The lies we tell to ourselves isn't the loudest lies per se and that's what makes them the most deceiving. If we were to speak loudly to ourselves and tell those lies then we would hear how false it sounded. The lies we tell ourselves is silent whispers that grows on us slowly and fills us with a comfortable sense that everything is OK and working properly. Since the lies are slowly growing on us we don't question them in the way we would if they were loud and in our face, and that makes the lies we tell ourselves the most effective in escaping the truth. It's in the nature of the lie that we don't question it as long as it resonates with what we want to believe or as long as it doesn't stand out. The lies we tell ourselves follows what we believe in, they don't stick out and that's why they are more powerful than any other lie.

Theoretically everyone has a conscience which speaks up when a person does wrong. Conversely, we try to rationalize our actions. Rationalization usually is the loudest conversation.

well I think we are usullay quite honest with others when pointing to their shortcomings and mistakes and claiming that we have superior intellect and knowledge but at the same time we neglect to acknowledge the fact that this superior knowledge came through committing the same mistakes earlier so in fact we are lying to ourselves when we believe in our super intellectual powers while the truth is that we only preceded the others in being stupid.

~ Most others do NOT know us enough to know when we lie.

~ When we DO lie, WE know we lied, and it will either be a cummulative sadness of telling lies, or an unstoppable addiction to telling lies because we are so used to it.
