The Wii is basically an updated version of the GameCube, it's capable of accepting GameCube games, GameCube controllers, and GameCube memory cards.

The Wii though can't accept other GameCube accesories, like the Game Boy adapter, the telephone line modem, the broadband network adapter, and so on. However the Wii got its built-in network hardware and its own accessories.

The PlayStation 3 is the most luxurious video game console out there.

As for money to save for a PlayStation 3.

It's around U$600, around over twice of a Wii which is around U$250.

If you only got the budget of U$250 for one birthday, don't go for the PlayStation 3 unless you're willing to wait for another year.

If you want a relatively less expensive video game consoles with lots of titles, go for the PlayStation 2.

I would want to get the Wii. It is new,and it is sold out. Personally, I dont like PlayStation, but thats me. I have the GameCube, and it is GREAT! They still make games for it(even though the GameCube is like 2 years old.), and mine doesnt freeze up or anything. They are very little, simple, and easy to handle, carry, and use. I would get the Wii, and if you cant find one, get the GameCube!!! PS-The reasonable, average, and original price for the Wii is $250. If you see one for $500, dont get it.

From what I fairly have Heard, you would be able to play specific video games purely from the PS2 on the PS3, and It does would desire to be a undeniable form, such because of the fact the eighty Gigabyte form. As For the wii, to my superb awareness gamecube video games do artwork, or they have for my wii for my area, yet you will would desire to attach a GC controller on your wii to play good

You should get a Wii because it also plays Gamecube Games, so that's two things of your list.

Let's go with pros and cons.

PS3-
Pros:
*Cell-processing
*Blu-Ray
*Incredible graphics

Cons:
*Cell-processing- is it really that different?
*Blu-Ray- Not widely used as it is
*Incredible Graphics... doesn't save it from the fact that there is absolutely no killer-app out there- any games that ARE good are available on other consoles.
*The backwards compatibility of the machine is designed in such a way that PS2 games played on the PS2 actually look BETTER than PS2 games played on the PS3, which is almost unexcusable.
*Might be easy to find- which, considering they had only a limited amount made, only indicates it isn't as well-received as initially thought.

Wii-
Pros:
*Unique gameplay ideas
*Collection of games that are already popular
*Backwards compatible with gamecube games
*Considerably popular internet interface
*Cheapest current-generation console

Cons:
*Of the current-generation consoles, this one is considered the weakest, graphically.
*Might be difficult to find.
Gamecube-
Pros:
*A large collection of enjoyable games, both first-and-third party.
*Up to 4 players, as opposed to 2.
*Popular assortment of first-party titles that, while admittedly aged, are still fun, including Super Smash Brothers, LoZ-Windwaker, StarFox: Assault, and many others.
*Cheapest console, while still remaining fun.

Cons:
*Out-of-date compared to other consoles, sporting the weakest graphics- but then, why do graphics matter more than the gameplay? They don't? Well, then, there you go.

Don't be discouraged by whatever console you select. The only thing you're going to worry about in the end is how much enjoyment you're going to get out of it, not how pretty it looks.

What would you enjoy more... killer graphics or awesome gameplay? Me, gameplay, so I'd go for Wii.
