My last job was in my town's school administration, and I can tell you that if the government put money behind the Act it would have been helpful.

Instead, the Act just forces children to meet requirements set for them by the government without giving them the resources to help them do so. That is leading teachers to "teach to the test" instead of teaching creatively because they know they have to get kids up to speed or they lose whatever government dollars they will receive, and those dollars, by they way, are cut every year. This puts an increased burden on taxpayers with a yearly rise in property, sales, and local gas taxes.

Thank you Mr. Bush for your war in Iraq. Could you have been any more helpful to our children's future?

It sounds, to me, like they're trying to eliminate the natural selection from all the aspects of our life. Of course, there are lots of people who will say that it is a good thing and that can actually prove it, but I don't believe in this "no child left behind" thing. You know, imagine a bus in which some children got very early. They want to go, go, go and see new things. But the bus must stop and wait for the ones who are late, due to this "no child...". That bus will not get too far.
I'd rather have 10 brilliant scientists in my country than 1,000,000 mediocre pencil-pushers. Anyway, read some questions and some answers of the children that are here, on Y/A and you'll see the "great" result of the new educational slogan: they make the same mistakes that the uneducated people make, only that now we have a lot of them!

Quite honestly, I think it is a joke. All of the Bush administration's so-called policies to better America are not well thought out nor are they ever completed. Bush's head is not in America, it is in Iraq.

Whatever happened to him lowering gas prices or dealing with boarder control. And what was that about social security again Mr. Bush?

It is a good concept, just never finished.

Amazing idea to educate all kids no matter what social status they are in.
