Your battery is weak. It has enough power to run your lights but is too weak to run the starter.

First thought....you're sure the battery isn't weak ? Check voltage first, then :
May just be hot wire not tight on terminal at starter or battery. Just for giggles pull battery cable, make sure it's nice and clean, then replace it. Now check starter end secure.
If that doesn't help, next thing to check is solenoid on starter. If it has dirty secondary contacts, then it pulls in, making a clicking sound but doesn't pass juice to the starter motor. (Get local gearhead to show you where to stick the screwdriver) If that doesn't get it, it's time for the starter.

Your starter must be bad.
Disconect battery terminals, 14mm or 9/16 socket. Two bolts hold starter on, passangers side, toward the bottom of the moter sticking into the bellhousing of the transmition.
Two wires attatched to the starter disconect then reinstall.
Your local auto part center can help you find your starter.

Alternator, starter, and battery all paintings at the same time. identity have them verify all 3 in particular because of the fact purely because of the fact a factor is new would not recommend it is not a defective section. My dad placed a clean starter in my motor vehicle and four months later had to replace it because of the fact it became right into a bad section! My advice convey it to a corporation that has attempting out kit they are able to sorting out the particular situation and it will keep you a super kind of grief interior the long-term!

Remove and replace the Starter Motor.End of problem. What you hear is the starter celanoid trying to make the Bendix drive gear match up with the flywheel. The starter motor itself is burned out and unable to turn over the engine.

Did you look at you starter? It could be burnt out... When you turn you ignition and the lights go on... then you turn the ignition off does it seem like the battery is dead? that could be your alternator. So Check your starter first and go from there..

check your battery terminals for corrossion, clean if needed, check wire connections on starter, if all good, take starter out and take it to your local autopart store, also take the battery, have them load test the battery and bench test the starter, if both are good, then check your starter wires for shorts. hope this helps

it sounds like you need a starter. don't be afraid to buy a rebuilt or remanufactured one. it will save you money and usually has a decent warranty.
