i heard that america has made a movie about iranians and romans(unaniha)and the battles between them. but i have heard that the iranian characters are ugly crazy and actually bad people and on the other hand the romans are nice have a high culture. why you insult all the time to us? other thing that i have to mention is that i have heard that iranians in this film are wearing arab clothes but let me tell you 1500 years ago arab people had not come to iran yet. and we were not muslims we were ZARTOSHTI which in iran there are even now some people with that religion and our clothes were in a different way .so why these directors are making a movie when they have no information about our history? they have insulted KHASHAYAR Shah who was a really good man and he is famous in the history.ok on the other hand america says lets make relations with iran but if they really want this why they are making such a movie. we all know that holleywood is under your government. and so it is releavent.

Many People are ignorant and don't know about the culture and just follow in any believed image. And there are those that just don't care enough to be correct when portraying those of another culture not knowing that that is an insult. You see many people don't know of the history of people of the middle east and just assume that all of them are muslim, wears non revealing clothing and speak arabic. I am however not justifying this but just telling you how some people portray others(in general). There are several people who are educated about iranians and their culture and do take into account their culture when referring to them. I think the main problem is communication and education and truly I believe that that can make a big differences and in some cases be the difference between life and death. ***I personally want to thank you for posting this question and wanting to find out more instead of presuming and pointing fingers*************

I haven't heard of any such movie. Also, please remember not to fall into the same tendency that some Americans have by judging the Iranian people by their government. Likewise, all Americans (most in fact) are not the type you speak of. The culture and knowledge that came out of the middle east has been tremendously important to the development of the world's history and its people. And for your personal information (which I don't know where you get it), Hollywood is NOT under our government, very much to the contrary.

First off, if I'm thinking the right movie (300) it's not the iranians and the romans, it's the Persians and the Spartans. This was a real battle, and one of the most important moments in military history. Of course, Hollywood will take liberties with the story to make it sell, as not everybody wants to watch the history channel. Again, I may be thinking the wrong movie, so I could be way off base.

The movie is intended as popular entertainment and is clearly not meant to be historically authentic (for example some of the soldiers look like Ninjas.) Nobody who watches it in the US takes it very seriously.
For the record the US Government does not control the American film industry--indeed up until the recent elections the party that controlled the government tended to dislike the political views of the people in Hollywood.

If the movie was made in Hollywood, they have a habit of trying to offend everyone that isn't a homosexual. Hollywood movies about real events rarely get the facts right. Instead, they try and make a statement about something. I wouldn't worry about it because most Americans hate Hollywood and most actors because they are immoral liars.
I think that the Iranian people want relations with the USA also but your government leaders want war and bloodshed because the aytollahs are bloodthirsty murderer's. I realize your people are feeling powerless against your governent, but one day, maybe that will change.

American made movies @ other countries that aren't researched first get little or no notoriety and low ratings, warning Americans that they are not fact based. Amer. is made up of so many nationalities that we find out very quickly what isn't true. Thank you for the heads up @ this movie. We are not interested in movies that show disrespect to other countries and their countrymen by not finding and telling the truth or making up lies for a story line. The American people do not believe Hollywood or the government tell only truths. We ? everything.

I think what people need to remember is that the movie is only loosely based on a historical battle. It's actually based on a graphic novel (comic book) by Frank Miller, an interpretation of history by a particular artist. No one's saying it's a perfect interpretation, or even a realistic one. Both the graphic novel and the film were designed to be seen as historical fantasy.

Hollywood is not "under the government". Hollywood is a bunch of people who take their money and express themselves through film and music.
It's up to the person making the film how they want to tell the story. Unless it is a documentary, there will be poetic license.
There are plenty of things you will find wrong in film and television that portray certain groups in stereotype.
Get in line, dear. There are plenty of people ahead of you.

i have no clue what movie you are talking about, and probably wouldn't see it anyways, but seriously, why are you letting a MOVIE upset you!? i am sure that in Iran you have movies that make fun of americans!! No movie is 100% politically correct otherwise it'd be a documentary. It's all just a movie and no one really cares who's who in these movies and if they really exist or not. it's just cheap entertainment, and u shouldn't be getting all angry and offended by it. seriously.
