Read on English Common Law, the US Constitution and Bill of Rights, and more recent laws.
The big issue now is technology. Cellphone cameras, RFID's, and Grocery store discount cards.
Stalking is also a serious problem.
Read 1984 by George Orwell. Understand, if you can't "remember" that life used to be very different not so long ago, and that people who have never had privacy can not feel or respect the need others have for it.
