ok in most schools they have done this, or did back in the day anyways. What is the dance called that you dress up like your in the 50s...with 50s music 50s clothes and so forth. and it was a dance for school, like prom but not as former...does anyone know what i am talking about???

I would think you are talking about a "sock hop".

"Let's go to the hop" was a popular song in the 50's

Sock hops, dances, cotillions. They only differed in their formality. Often these were held in the school gym, on the wooden basketball court, where street shoes were forbidden. A sock hop.

Do you mean the ones that Fred Astaire danced? I don' t know what it' s called although I always watch the movies that he starred in.
