I was arrested wrongfully and spent 1 day and a 1/2 in jail and was thinking of filing a civil suit against the police. Lawyer wants 2K to try the case but I don't wanna pay unless I know what I stand to make. any advice

You are going to have to prove you were damaged by the "wrongful arrest" and demonstrate how the day and a half in jail damaged you.
If the only damage you can prove is two days lost wages, you are not getting much more than that.

Don't hold your breath on becoming a millionaire. I suspect your lawyer will make more than you do.

considering most (us) states the law can hold a person for 48 hours before even pressing charges there is little you can win. as stated possible loss wages.
