I'm not really sure what you're asking. But I happen to like Ugly Betty. I think the show allows people to see Latin people in a totally different light. That not everyone is glamorous.

But most importantly, I think the show offers insight as to how immigrants live. The problems they encountered in their workplace and anywhere else. I also think that Americans can learn a lot from Latin people, for instances how they value their family.

Well as a Latin myself i will say it changing the appreciation of Latin people in the Media, but also the appreciation of beauty. The protagonist isn't a skinny girl but she is very healthy and lovely. She is a Latina that works hard and she still pursuing the American dream in her daily life. In ugly Betty the Latinos are not stereotype as drug dealers or machistas. I think that this show is improving the view of Latinos in the media. That's the reason because it is my favorite show.

I like Ugly Betty. To me she represents how harsh the society can be to people who don't fit the size 4, $1,500 bag carrying-typecast. In spite of the criticism she regularly gets, she still manages to handle her business... She just happen to be Latina. And I know she doesn't represent Latinos at large, anyway...
