It can be done without fancy methods as follows:

Rewrite f(x) as follows:

f(x) = x(x + 8) + 7

⇒ f(x) / g(x) = {x(x + 8) + 7}/(x + 8)

So f(x) / g(x) = x(x + 8)/(x + 8) + 7/(x + 8) = x + 7/(x + 8)

f (x) = x^2 + 8x + 7

f (x) = ( x + 7 ) (x + 1)

f (x) / g (x) = ( x + 7 ) ( x + 1 ) / ( x + 8 )
