Yep. Hate it. But now that I'm a parent of a teenager I'm looking ALL the time. In dressers, under mattresses, in pockets.

Wanna hear something that will really pi$$ you off? You're gonna do it too because you KNOW you snuck stuff into the house and didn't get caught, and your kid will too!!

Most of the time it would be mom getting fired up.She found my smokes, birth control pills, and dirty love letters. The process was frustrating and hurt her more than it did me.

Sure it is. But please realize she is doing it to reasure herself that you aren't getting into any thing that could harm you. Just make sure you don't have anything to hide. And might I suggest you talk to her more about what is going on in your life & mind. It might also help if you keep your room clean and your laundry taken care of....

I hated it; i never really hid outrageous things, mainly just disciplinary letters from school; or love notes, things of that nature. I was soo happy when i got my own place. ahhh freedom!

Nope. Back in those days, you did not have the privacy you have today.

So, you learned not to hide things in your room, you hid them where no one could find them. . .

My parents never did that. I guess they trusted us. They believed we had a right to privacy. Plus, I guess it helped that we (my sister and I) never gave them a reason not to trust us. We were pretty much goody two shoes.
