ANBU is actually a group, not really a rank, because the rank after jounin is kage. I'm assuming that he was a jounin when he joined the ANBU and was categorized as being part of ANBU at a jounin-level, but when he quit he was only categorized as a jounin. Did that make sense at all..? haha
It's assumed that Rin died because Kakashi says that everyone important to him is already dead when he talks to Sasuke before the Sound 4 get to him. Tobi makes an appearance at the end of Chapter 280.

Well, it seems more that the Anbu is like the FBI or Secret Service more than just the Jonin. Kakashi is supposedly one of those genuises and that he joined the Anbu at an early age. It's probably that he was in the Anbu and served in it for a while but decided to take a break and teach some genin.
Rin appears in the flashback of Kakashi right between Naruto leaving with Jiraiya to go training for those 2.5 years and when Naruto comes back. I find it a good strategy for Masashi Kinomoto to use in a way to "fill the gap".
Everybody has been asking what chapters Tobi appears, I'm not to sure myself but I think its right after Sasori gets killed by Sakura and Chiyo-baba-sama.

Anbu is not a rank. It is a special group of the best Chunin and Junin. It is explained when the Third Hokage explains to Naruto how missions are distributed to all the ninjas.
Anbu's mission are mostly assassination (not sure but I assume it is that).
For Rin, I suppose she is dead now or Kakashi believes shes is dead. Just after, the first fight Sasuke with his Chidori Vs Naruto with his Radengan, Kakashi tells Sasuke that all the people who he loved were already dead.
Tobi appears after the mission "Save Gaara". And while the fight against Sanbi. I will modify my meaasge later for the chapters.

kakashi dident love rin rin loved kakashi but kakashi ignored
her but the other team member loved her but she ignored him
but on wikipedia it sais that she is dead and she removed the saringan from the other team member to kakashis left eye
