It all depends on what canal you are one, what they will be called

There are special turning places every few miles along the canal, known as
'winding holes'
Basins
Turning Points

It all depends on the area you are in with you narrowboat, but if you are asking someone on the canal, for this place, it is know to all as a turning point.
